What is 'Drilling' and why is it important in pickleball ?Drilling in pickleball is practicing and perfecting specific shots (dinking, backhand, serve, spin shots, transition zone shots, third shot drops etc.) through repetition. It can be difficult to perfect shots just through game play. You can drill with a partner or you can also solo drill. Options for solo-drilling include: using a pickleball machine, doing pickleball wall drills, or self-serving shots etc. There are endless variations, you can practice all different types of shots (serves/drives/lobs/spins/backhand), from the all over the court (non-volley zone, transition line, base line), at all angles. By drilling and getting the reps in, you will significantly improve your game and confidence on the court. Sometimes it can be challenging for a drill partner to send you the consistent shots you want to work on, that's where a pickleball machine can help. Our Erne pickleball machine is a great drilling partner, it has preset drills or you can customized it to focus on the areas you want to improve the most. Book with a friend or two so you can all practice together !
-
